Well it's been awhile now since I've posted...It doesn't feel like we've been accomplishing quite as much but we still have been working hard (some days that is..)

I refinished the cabinet that was built in as part
 of the house :) it's amazing what new knobs and
 paint can do!!!

The BEAUTIFUL weather has brought with it yet another project...the YARD :) We didn't get a chance to rake leaves in the fall because we were so busy with the inside so we raked leaves and pruned some trees... luckily they come and pick up the green waste in the spring and fall so we made sure to get our pile out before the pick up.

It has been fun to see what flowers start popping up around the yard :)

The next project we've started on (along with getting the yard under control) is the FENCE ..all of the posts are terrible (most of them are two pieces of wood stacked together...needless to say it's not very sturdy).  

Since fence slats are pretty expensive we have been re-using as many of the slats as possible to save some money.  We've made sure to get nice sturdy posts though :)

We've fixed until the tree, it's still not very pretty but it sure is more sturdy and straight!!!

 I will try to keep up on this a little better...I know there are some other pictures I took and I can't seem to find them...I guess that means I waited too long to update! :)

BATHROOM! and a few other fun things ;)

Well we now have an upstairs bathroom! We don't have a shower just yet but it sure is nice having a toilet upstairs...those steep stairs are treacherous when you're tired:)

Here's a tour of the new upstairs bathroom :) starting with the door

I've been working on sanding/painting all of the old doors :) I'm now done! next step..hanging them all up.

We finally painted all of the stairwell to the basement :) it was very tricky to get all the way to the top...so this is Todd on a board that is propped on a ladder...that is on the stairs and a step stool in the kitchen... It was scary but he did a great job :)

Trim, Christmas, New Kitchen Floor, Improved Office, Started Shower!

Well I haven't updated this since November so..I guess the timeline for these things is the beginning of December 2011 to the Endish of January 2012!

TRIM

First off - we have made some progress in the trim department (still have a lot to go) but it's looks really good! I love the old trim, it adds so much character to our cute house! :)

Next ...CHRISTMAS!!! I love Christmas and this one was pretty good! I didn't really take very many pictures but here are a couple.

Our Christmas Tree!

-we cut down one we had in our front yard and used it :), it was inexpensive and since we wanted to get rid of it anyway it worked out great, however it was the pokiest Christmas tree I have ever dealt with-

And for Christmas I got Todd a TV for our bedroom! We had a wall that was just perfect for one..not the most necessary ..but why get something necessary for Christmas :)

Todd got me lots of great presents too! He got me some awesome glass canisters for Flour, Sugar, Rice since we don't really have a great cupboard for them :) I put the vinyl lettering on and I think they turned out really cute! :)

KITCHEN FLOOR

Now the most exciting thing that has happened over this month is our KITCHEN FLOOR!!! It looks AMAZING! :) Todd tiled it and he did an awesome job ...as usual :)

SO in case any of you forgot what the kitchen floor did look like..here are some pics:

Oh..and we also put in a dishwasher and had to get a new counter top..thus the counter-topless cupboards below.

In order to tile the kitchen.. we had to have our kitchen appliances in the front room for a week and a half...that was fun :)

Next Todd put down Lathe and Thin Set (even just that made the floor look a billion times better :) )

Next he started laying the tile! :) It looks so good with the cupboards and the color of the walls!

And the BEAUTIFUL finished product!!! The second picture shows the color much better :)

Hooking in the dishwasher! :) ...but this dishwasher ended up not working...the latch was broken...so they brought us a new one a week later (talk about disappointing lol oh well at least I have one now :))

And our first time using it! As you can see Todd was pretty excited ... and so was I because HE was doing the dishes haha

So now we have a wonderful kitchen and I LOVE going in there :)

OFFICE

The other room that is practically finished thanks to my wonderful dad is our office :) for Christmas he made Todd a computer desk and me a craft desk! They look awesome :) and we were able to get everything in that room unpacked AND our FIRST pictures on the wall!

And FINALLY the SHOWER PAN :)

Todd's buddy came up and put in the shower pan in our upstairs bathroom-to-be and it looks pretty nifty :) it will look better once it's finished and tiled ..but it's a START! Also, we bought some tile this week and Todd is planning to tile the upstairs bathroom this week! Hopefully I won't slack off so much and there will be more pictures to come! :)

It's so fun to see it all coming together! :) Sometimes I like putting off blogging so I can watch it transform in minutes on the computer! :) ENJOY because I sure am :)
