Saturday, Sunday, Monday...

Well Saturday we tried to get a lot done but we ended up having to stay out of the house while the sheetrock guy mudded and then we went to the house around 2:00pm to get to work. We cleaned up the basement, put in all of the light boxes etc for the lights downstairs and started sanding the floors.

Here are pictures of the mudded rooms :)

Upstairs Front Room:

This is the "frog" room... it sanded ok (much better than the front two rooms..) it definitely still needs some work... but it's a start.

Here's the nice clean basement :) we vacuumed up all of the spiderwebs, dust, and who knows what else... needless to say it looks much nicer (still not NICE by any means lol)

I'll put a little blurb about Sunday and Monday as well since I didn't take any pictures those days...
Sunday =awful day of work.... we went to church and then went to the house to start sanding the front rooms... after numerous hours of work.. I didn't take any pictures because it was that frustrating and you really couldn't tell a difference (the sander was TERRIBLE) so we are going to rent a more powerful one tomorrow so we can actually get the floors sanded.
Monday
We placed all of the light boxes for in the kitchen, puttied some holes in the wall, and cleaned up all the tools...so basically a lot of cleaning for the most part.

So now I am all caught up :) I think I might go see where the house is at NOW :)

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... :)

Well I fell a little behind on the blog because my family came into town for my mom's graduation Friday...but I left Todd behind to get work done on the house. He did amazing at the work..not so amazing at documenting it for me :) So Thursday, Friday, and Saturday he worked on framing and plumbing the bathroom upstairs, as well as some more wiring. On Saturday the sheetrock guy came and hung sheetrock in part of the front two rooms! It made it look so different when I came home on Sunday! So here are pictures I took on Sunday :)

Here are the front two rooms with partial sheetrock! On the first picture you can also see where they blew in insulation (since there wasn't any insulation on the exterior walls of the house..) it is the white strip at the top of the wall, they came and blew in insulation on Friday :) ...Doesn't it look a little more like a house!

These next ones are of the stairwell, the first picture doesn't look a whole lot different from this angle but up on the right is where the new bathroom is so you can kinda see the walls :) and the bottom picture once again is a picture of the blown-in insulation.

Below are pictures of the bathroom-to-be! you can see they have the floor down and some of the walls framed in. You can't see it but they also have the plumbing hooked up :) Don't worry there will be more pictures that make it look slightly more like a bathroom (it will be a pretty small bathroom but it is much better than risking walking down those steep stairs in the middle of the night... haha)

This next picture is mainly just of the stack of sheetrock...you will see what it looks like on the walls shortly :)

Monday: I don't have a whole lot of pictures for monday..we were there until about 11:30 (framing and putting up insulation) and then went back again Tuesday morning at 6 am to finish up... needless to say I didn't get pictures taken until a little later Tuesday morning. But the furnace, water heater, and air conditioner were all delivered on Monday ( I didn't take a picture of the water heater box..I know you are all disappointed).

Tuesday: On Tuesday like I said in the previous post we went back to the house to finish up a few things before the sheetrock guy came, mostly just finishing the framing in the bathroom and a tiny bit of insulating. Then the sheetrock guy showed up and got to work, and shortly thereafter the heating and air conditioning people showed up to hook all of that up ..so we left for work at about 10 am and came back to a whole new house :) well sort of :)

Here are pictures of the NEW furnace, water heater, and A/C all hooked up :)

These are a couple more pictures of the bathroom, with finished framing and insulation :) The second picture is the little shower area :) it's hard to take pictures of the bathroom... haha

Here are pictures of a partially sheet-rocked upstairs bedroom :)

Here's the stairs to the basement with all of the sheetrock hung, looks much nicer :)

And here are the front two rooms with ALL of the sheetrock hung!

Wednesday: Almost ALL of the sheet rock has been hung and it looks like an amazing new house! See for yourself...

Here are pictures of the upstairs front bedroom, all of the sheetrock has been hung in this room! It looks awesome.. well better at least :) The last picture is of the closet in that room:)

Alright, here are some more pictures of the upstairs bathroom, the first one is the main part where the toilet and sink will be, and the next two are the shower area, we had to work with the space we had :)

These last pictures are of the stairway and the stairwell of the main stairs they aren't quite finished but they are very close!

Well I sure hope I don't fall that behind from here on out... so I don't have to have another HUGE post like this! :) But it sure is exciting seeing it all come together so quickly! It's hard to believe we've only had the house for two weeks and will be moving into it in two more weeks!!!

Monday! Tuesday! Wednesday! :)

Well since I feel behind I decided I would just do one post for all of the days :) This week has been pretty productive, but it isn't as easy to document what all has been done.

Monday:
Todd and his dad did some wiring for the house and his mom and I cleaned up all of the debris that was still upstairs, and I started demo on the basement stairs and the basement ceiling (quite possibly the dirtiest place in the house...).

Below are pictures of the wiring in progress :) the second picture (the one of Todd) is Todd in the crawlspace underneath the house... after I took this picture he said " Rude! you are documenting my torture!" but it must all be documented..even the worst parts of it :)

These are pictures of the clean upstairs, all the lathe and plaster and insulation is cleaned up from the floors...or at least most of it. Let me tell you it is very hard going up and down those steep stairs with a garbage can that's practically full of cement..

These last pictures from Monday are my attempt to demo the stairs and the basement ceiling.
The first picture is the ceiling... I didn't get a whole lot of it done but it was at least a start :) The other picture is of the stairwell down to the basement, we only had to demo the wall you see partially demo'd ..I did to where I could reach...

Tuesday:
Well tuesday was our 3rd Anniversary! So after work I went home and got ready to go work on the house... and when I got there Todd was already there working his butt off so that we wouldn't have to be there all night and we could go on a date for our anniversary! He had picked up all the wood we needed to get from home depot, finished the demo on the stairs to the basement and was practically done with the ceiling in the basement. It was very exciting and sweet of him! :)

Wednesday:
Well .. as with all projects there is bound to be something your weren't planning on... for us it was the fact that the nice little archway between the two large front rooms was actually a load bearing wall that some idiot had decided to turn into an arch... Luckily after we took off the ceiling tiles and the lathe and plaster we noticed the bow in the ceiling. So we put a large header and 2x4's to add more support than what was previously there. Todd, his dad, and Jon all hoisted that up there and straightened out the bow. It's amazing how much of a difference it made in the room above, the floor used to be kind of bouncy and now it feels much more stable! thank goodness we noticed it before it got worse! :)

Below is the picture of the nice sturdy header that we put up.

We also finished cleaning up the debris in the basement :)
